Rigilicious

breathtaking! literally, which signaled how fit i am. even a gentle slope left me panting! then again oxygen is thin at 6000ft no? anyhow, i'm glad and relieved we managed to make our way out of bed to finally set off for our first weekend getaway :) rigi - a highly accessible tourist spot to visit which sits between lake zug and lake lucerne is panoramically surrounded by the swiss alps.

to get the best experience of the lucerne riviera as they call it, take a cruise from lucerne to vitznau and from there, get up the first cogwheel train built in europe in 18-something all the way to kulm. you can spend hours here picnicking, sleeping (like the mr) or admiring the awesome views! for descent, stop at kaltbad and board a cable car which will take you to another charming swiss town called weggis. i bet you any money the cable car down is the most exhilarating ride ever! the cables are lined steeply along the mountain. in essence, it feels like a dive down into the lake! anyhow next time we better be paragliding down :)

views from the mountain railway; doesn't it look like a swiss chocolate wrapper?
dining at the edge!
nature at its best
thankfully, weather was awesome too :)
the grass is greener on my side ;)
but he definitely made the best of use of the green green grass
on the way down...
they love pink! from their tractors, tape to industrial sponge(?), it was all pink!
pretty summer blooms at weggis
wooden cottages en route to the pier
